Here's just a little bit about me, and my art.

I was brought up in Coventry and Kenilworth, and went to King Henry V111 Grammar School in Coventry, where I was 'good enough' at art, but not great! Luckily after a successful career I managed to retire from work a bit early, and took up art and writing again, and things progressed from there ................

I paint mainly in watercolour, ink and soluble graphite. which help me to achieve bold pictures with plenty of atmosphere, in a short time, and with the minimum of fuss! 

I love painting 'natural' scenes, including landscapes of countryside, farm settings, buildings, rivers and fishing villages with harbours and boats. 

I also like giving buildings a bit more character than they might actually have. As an artist I think straight lines in buildings are a bit boring! 

MY FAVOURITE TIME IS WHEN I'M RUNNING A PEN & WASH WORKSHOP. It's great to help people build up their skills in this area, and give them the confidence to go out sketching and painting on their own.

P.S. The pictures on the website are a VERY small sample - I have hundreds, but I do try to change them around when I have an hour or two to spare. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did painting them!
